Didn’t know how quickly the time would pass
Memories of you fill up our past
The glow in you shined brighter each setting sun
Your light was called to a different path
Couldn’t make enemies
It wasn’t your nature
Though they joked and abused your kindness
Still you endured
Disguised as a human
Who had to serve the foreign lands
A gift from up above, you are the beacon
Beaming sun, you were chosen for a higher plan
Though seasons come and go
Your spirit dwells in us and it’s ‘gon outlast
Your name in the community will withstand
Always willing to lend a helping hand
Through all the picking and prodding
Smiling at those who didn’t understand
Still you remained an honorable man
You kept your strength
Retained hope, taught us faith
You wore the Saint over your name
Though I was far away
Know you still carried on in my veins
Present in all that I am
I walked your path, I understand
All the challenges you went through to stay in our lives
Still they never broke your spirit
Forever in our hearts
I will cherish the unbroken bond
You inspire me to last
I would have spent the time I had
If I had known when you’d surpass our land
I’m sorry I couldn’t be by your side
Through all the distance, I was holding your hand
The feeling of your essence remains
Time we shared, secured in every sunrise
To return home where you belong
You weren’t only an Uncle
You were a companion, a devoted son, a friend
Here lies our golden cross
To bridge heaven again
Golden Cross
